Recently, only the lazy have not heard about Omega watches with a Master Chronometer certificate – the Bienne company rightly presents its undoubted achievement in the field of precise and resistant to strong magnetic fields mechanics with coaxial descent as the main "highlight" of the new models.
Even the legendary caliber 1861, which has accompanied most of the chronographs of the Speedmaster Professional line for decades, has acquired a proprietary coaxial escapement and an antimagnetic hypostasis in the new 3861 movement of the Master Chronometer category.
Before refreshing the main points of our last year's article, we would like to inform you that despite the systematic transition to the widespread introduction of Master Chronometer calibers in all its lines, the company's production facilities still do not allow it to be done properly, which is why the brand still uses less advanced mechanisms in part of its products.
Well, the modern, formed over the past 5 years, a number of Master Chronometer calibers consists of the following families, the vast majority of which are equipped with automatic winding:
— The 20 mm 87XX design with a 3.5-inch balance and a power reserve of 50 hours occupies a place in the women's versions of the Constellation collection with a diameter of 29 and 27 mm (in addition to the basic version with three central hands and a date under the index 8700/8701, a version with a small second pointer 8704/8705 is available)
— A 26 mm 88XX caliber with a 3.5-inch balance and a power reserve of 55 hours as the basis of medium-sized watches with a diameter of up to 40 mm in the Constellation, Aqua Terra, Seamaster Diver 300M collections (the basic version 8800/8801 is supplemented with an option without a date indicator 8806/8807 and a version with a small second indicator 8804/8805)
— A 29-millimeter series of 89XX mechanisms with a 3.5-hour balance and a power reserve of 60 hours as the basis for the Aqua Terra, Seamaster Planet Ocean and Ploprof, Globemaster, Trésor lines (base 8900/8901 with three central hands and date has grown the largest number of variations of execution, among which 8902/8903 [annual calendar with a disk pointer of the month], 8906 [GMT, second time zone time], 8910/8928Ti [manual winding, 72-hour power reserve], 8912/8913 [three hands without date indicator], 8922/8923 [annual calendar with month pointer], 8938/8939 [Worldtimer, world time])
